In the Hindu PuranasVaruna is the god of oceans, his vehicle is a Makara part fish, part land creature and his weapon is a Pasha noose, rope loop. Varuna is found in Japanese Buddhist mythology as Suiten.
In the earliest layer of the RigvedaVaruna is the guardian of moral law, one who punishes those who sin without remorse, and who forgives those who err with remorse. You at your birth are Varuna, O Agni. When you are kindled, you are Mitra. In you, O son of strength, all gods are centered. You are Indra to the mortal who brings oblation. Varuna and Mitra are the gods of the societal affairs including the oathand are often twinned Mitra-Varuna.
According to Doris Srinivasana professor of Indology focusing on religion, Varuna-Mitra pair is an ambiguous deity just like Rudra - Shiva pair.
In Vajasaneyi Samhita In verse 3. She is stated in the Vedic texts to be the mother of Varuna and Mitra along with other Vedic gods, and in later Hindu mythology she as mother earth is stated to be mother of all gods. In Yajurveda it is said: "In fact Varuna is Vishnu and Vishnu is Varuna and hence the auspicious offering is to be made to these deities.
Rama interacts with Varuna in the Hindu epic Ramayana. For example, faced with the dilemma of how to cross the ocean to Lankawhere his abducted wife Sita is held captive by the demon king RavanaRama an Avatar of Vishnu performs a pravpavesha prayer, tapasya to Varuna, the Lord of Oceans, for three days and three nights, states Ramesh Menon. He states to his brother Lakshamana that "even lords of the elements listen only to violence, Varuna does not respect gentleness, and peaceful prayers go unheard".
With his bow and arrow, Rama prepares to attack the oceans to burn up the waters and create a bed of sand for his army of monkeys to cross and thus confront Ravana.
Lakshmana appeals to Rama, translates Menon, that he should return to "peaceful paths of our fathers, you can win this war without laying waste the sea". As Rama increases the ferocity of his weapons, Varuna arises out of the oceans. He bows to Rama, stating that he himself did not know how to help Rama because the sea is deep, vast and he cannot change the nature of sea.
Varuna asked Rama to remember that he is "the soul of peace and love, wrath does not suit him". Varuna promised to Rama that he will not disturb him or his army as they build a bridge and cross over to Lanka. Jhulelal is believed by Sindhi Hindus to be an incarnation of Varuna. The festival marks the arrival of spring and harvest, but in Sindhi community it also marks the mythical birth of Uderolal in yearafter they prayed to Hindu god Varuna to save them from the persecution by tyrannical Muslim ruler named Mirkhshah.
He, as Jhulelal, became the champion of the people in Sindh, from both religions. The Hindu Sindhi, according to this legend, celebrate the new year as Uderolal's birthday.
Buddhaghosa states SA. He presides over the western direction. Varuna is also worshipped in Japan's Shinto religion. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Over the years he and his successors united all the Chutiya kings of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh in the hills and plains to form the greater Chutiya kingdom after the fall of Pala.Vighnaharta Ganesh - विघ्नहर्ता गणेश - Ep 36 - 10th October, 2017
It was the largest kingdom in Assam after the fall of Kamrupa and before the rise of Ahom kingdom. The kingdom absorbed the ancient Pala dynasty of Kamarupa and reigned for over years in eastern Assam and Arunachal Pradesh with its capital at Sadiya and Ratnapur.
Sadiya was the name of the kingdom as well its capital. It became the dominant power in eastern Assam in the 12th century and remained so until the 16th century with its domain from Parshuram Kund in the east to Vishwanath in the west.
Among the Chutiya kings was Gaurinarayan Ratnadhwajpalson of Birpal. He brought many other Chutiya groups into his kingdom. InRatnadhwajpal defeated another Chutiya king named Bhadrasena, the king of Swetagiri, and conquered the area between Subansiri and Sissi rivers, i. Inhe went on another campaign to further expand his kingdom and subjugate the Chutiya king Nyayapal ruling the areas between Biswanath and Subansiri,i.
Then he marched to Dhakaand made friends with the Gauda ruler. The hostilities with the Ahoms began when the Chutiya Kingdom expanded to the south during which the Ahom kingSutuphaawas killed by the Chutiya king during a friendly negotiation. This conflict triggered a number of battles between the two sides which saw the great loss of men and money.
The simmering dispute often flared till when the Ahoms struck the Chutiya Kingdom at its weakest state, took Sadiya and killed the then king, Nityapal. The Ahoms established their rule by instituting the position of Sadiyakhowa Gohain, a newly constituted position of frontier-governor in charge of Sadiya. But the Chutiya had dispersed to frontier regions, and continued raids against the Ahoms.
It finally ended in when they fell under the domination of the Ahoms. The founder of the Chutiya kingdom was Birpal who claimed descent from a legendary king named Bhirmukka and reigned in He ruled over 60 clans with his capital on a hill called Swarnagiri and assumed the title of Gayapal.
He was succeeded by his son Sonagiripal assuming the title of Gaurinarayan.Originally described as the chief of evil spirits in Vedic-era texts, Kubera acquired the status of a Deva god only in the Purana s and the Hindu epics. The scriptures describe that Kubera once ruled Lanka, but was overthrown by his demon stepbrother Ravanalater settling in the city of Alaka in the Himalayas.
Descriptions of the "glory" and "splendours" of Kubera's city are found in many scriptures. Kubera has also been assimilated into the Buddhist and Jain pantheons. A bronze Matrika goddess group along with Ganesha left and Kubera right currently at the British Museum. Originally from Eastern India, it was dedicated in 43rd year of reign of Mahipala I c.
In the Vishnudharmottara PuranaKubera is described as the embodiment of both Artha "wealth, prosperity, glory" and Arthashastra s, the treatises related to it—and his iconography mirrors it. Kubera's complexion is described as that of lotus leaves.
He rides a man—the state personified, adorned in golden clothes and ornaments, symbolizing his wealth. His left eye is yellow. He wears an armour and a necklace down to his large belly. The Vishnudharmottara Purana further describes his face to be inclined to the left, sporting a beard and mustache, and with two small tusks protruding from the ends of his mouth, representing his powers to punish and to bestow favours.
His wife Riddhi, representing the journey of life, is seated on his left lap, with her left hand on the back of Kubera and the right holding a ratna-patra jewel-pot. Kubera should be four-armed, holding a gada mace: symbol of dandaniti —administration of justice and a shakti power in his left pair, and standards bearing a lion—representing Artha and a shibika a club, the weapon of Kubera.
The nidhi treasures Padma and Shankha stand beside him in human form, with their heads emerging from a lotus and a conch respectively. The Agni Purana states that Kubera should be installed in temples as seated on a goat, and with a club in his hand.
Kubera's image is prescribed to be that of gold, with multi-coloured attributes. In some sources, especially in Jain depictions, Kubera is depicted as a drunkard, signified by the "nectar vessel" in his hand. The exact origins of the name Kubera are unknown. Another theory suggests that Kubera may be derived from the verb root kumbameaning to conceal.
Kuvera is also split as ku earthand vira hero. Vaisravana is sometimes translated as the "Son of Fame". Once, Kubera looked at Shiva and his wife Parvati with jealousy, so he lost one of his eyes. Parvati also turned this deformed eye yellow. So, Kubera gained the name Ekaksipingala "one who has one yellow eye". He is also called Bhutesha "Lord of spirits" like Shiva. Kubera usually is drawn by spirits or men naraso is called Nara-vahanaone whose vahana mount is nara.Faze songs dj mix
Hopkins interprets nara s as being water-spirits, although Mani translates nara as men. Kubera also rides the elephant called Sarvabhauma as a loka-pala.
Kubera also enjoys the titles "king of the whole world", "king of kings" Rajaraja"Lord of wealth" Dhanadhipati and "giver of wealth" Dhanada. His titles are sometimes related to his subjects: "king of Yakshas" Yaksharajan"Lord of Rakshasas " Rakshasadhipati"Lord of Guhyakas " Guhyakadhipa"king of Kinnaras " Kinnararaja"king of animals resembling men" Mayurajaand "king of men" Nararaja.
Kubera is also called Guhyadhipa "Lord of the hidden". The Atharvaveda calls him the "god of hiding". By this time, though still described as an asura demonKubera is offered prayers at the end of all ritual sacrifices. His titles, such as "best of kings" and "Lord of kings" Harivamsa indicate that Kubera is made "Lord of kings"in contrast to the god-king of heaven, Indrawhose title of "best of gods" led to the later belief that Kubera was a man. The early texts Gautama Dharmashastra and Apastamba describe him as a man.Suras are one of the three races in the Kubera universe.
They are divided into eight clanseach of which is named after the first king of each clan. Nastikasthe highest-level suras, are the most powerful beings in the universe along with the 5th-zen godsand they are the gods' natural enemies. Suras are non-aging creatures that originally take the form of animal-like beings, while more developed suras have the ability to take on human form. Suras believe that they do not have an afterlife; however, the complete truth about the sura afterlife is only known to and is hidden by the 5th-zen gods.
The king of each clan is usually the strongest nastika of that clan. The name of each clan is derived from the first king of the clan. Most suras hunt for the purpose of restoring their vigorwhich is needed in order to use their transcendental skills. The only ranks that do not require any food to restore vigor are nastikas and 5th-stage rakshasas.
The lower a sura's rank, the more sura body parts it has that cannot transform into human form. There are no suras that look the same unless they are twins. Each sura has a distinct ranking from birth based on the number of generations that separate them from their nearest nastika ancestor. Most are quite mindful of their status, and as such, children with parents belonging to different ranks are rare. In particular, mixing with "such an inferior race" as humans is considered to be a total disgrace and a loss of pride; only the Vritra clan seems to be exempt from this mentality due the circumstances it has been forced to face.
The higher a sura's rank, the more naturally beautiful they are. Their beauty also increases as they develop to a higher stage except for nastikas, who do not developyet their beauty still does not exceed their rank.
Nastikas are the most powerful type of suras and have existed since the creation of the universe. They do not age, which is a trait they share with their enemies, the gods. Each nastika has a clan attribute, plus an origin attribute of their own. Nastikas can eat and drink; however, as stated by Taksakait is more of a bother for them since they neither require food nor obtain vigor from it.
Still, it appears to be a common practice in celebrations. Nastikas do not require sleep, but some—particularly dragons—enjoy it nonetheless.Bts comeback sweeps global music charts
Nastikas are stronger than the gods but do not regenerate infinitely. Gods cannot use insight to see into the mind of a nastika; however, a god can use insight to see a nastika's non-transformable body part, which glows, such as when Agni sees Gandharva as a shadow with a glowing eye. Nastikas are the only sura class that can change their gender at will.
Most are stronger in male form, but there have been notable exceptions such as Shuri and Vritra. In female form, she is the most beautiful of her clan. He does not appear in the main Kubera webtoon; he only appears in the side novel the finite. He has long silver hair that he wears in a messy ponytail. His wings are blue and resemble those of a butterfly.Drug bust mn 2020
Whenever he moves, the wings shine with five hues. In female form, Ravana's face is good-looking, not matching her personality. She is covered with thin clothes and her wings are said to resemble the sky. His personality is altogether described as rotten. He is quickly to mock other people and taunt them, which proves a mistake of his when he tries this with Taksaka.
Ravana is arrogant, since he considers himself to be above others due his strength and influence with Asura. In the finitehe even hosts a party from Asura's seat and leaves a mess behind after leaving. With his foul mouth and reckless personality, he is often a source of troubles for his king, but a combination of his beauty and the fondness Asura himself has towards him serves the purpose of solving the troubles. He first appears in a reunion with other nastikas from different clans.
Among them is Vinatawho eventually tires and decides to leave. Ravana makes fun of her situation, causing Vinata to tell him that he will pay for his behavior one day. After she leaves, a discussion ensues regarding who's the strongest among the 2 of the clans. The main candidates are Ravana and Taksaka. In order to prove his superiority, Ravana decides to fight Tak and goes to look for him to the sura realm.
Despite Vasuki 's warning, he insists on fighting the dragon and, after finding him, provokes him by bad-mouthing Ian. As usual, he tries to get Asura to fight in his stead by taking female form, but is ignored. After offering Taksaka a reward for not killing Ravana, which he rejects, Asura and the remaining Asura nastikas take their leave.

In the RamayanaRavana kidnaps Sitawho is the wife of Lord Rama to exact vengeance on Rama and his brother Lakshmana for having cut off the nose of his sister Shurpanakha and tries coercing her to marry him and forget her husband.
Ravana is worshiped by Hindus of Bisrakhwho claim their town to be his birthplace. Images of Ravana are seen associated with Shiva at some places.
They chose to take birth on earth 3 times. The references are from stories of Bhagavata Purana.
Asura: Tale Of The Vanquished
According to F. Pargiterthe word may originally have been a Sanskritisation of Iraivanthe Tamil name for a lord or king. Ravana is depicted and described as having ten heads, although sometimes he is shown with only nine heads because he has sacrificed a head to convince Shiva.
Ravana is also depicted as the author of the Ravana Samhitaa book on Hindu astrologyand the Arka Prakashama book on Siddha medicine and treatment. Ravana possessed a thorough knowledge of Siddha and political science. He is said to have possessed the nectar of immortality, which was stored inside his belly, thanks to a celestial boon by Brahma.
Ravana was born to great sage Vishrava or Vesamuniand his wife, the daitya princess Kaikeshi in the Treta Yuga.
People of Bisrakh village in Uttar Pradesh claim that Bisrakh was named after Vishrava, and that Ravana was born there. But according to Hela historical sources and folklore, Ravana was born in Lanka, where he later became king.
Ravana's grandfather on his father's side, the sage Pulastya was one of the ten Prajapatis or mind-born sons of Brahma and one of the Saptarishi Seven Great Sages Rishi in the first Manvantara age of Manu. His grandfather on his mother's side, Sumali or Sumalayaking of the Raksasas, was the son of Sukesha. Sukesha's parents were King Vidyutkesa, who had married Salakantankata daughter of Sandhyawho had abandoned Sukesha, but by the grace of Shiva he survived.
Sumali had wished her to marry the most powerful being in the mortal world, so as to produce an exceptional heir. The Asura clan is the clan of insects, and is one of the eight existing sura clans. The Asura clan is well know for its reproduction rate, as well as huge population, thereby presenting the largest military force within the sura clans. In fact, at the beginning of the universe there were rakshasas for every nastika in the clan. However, they are also known for having relatively weaker powers compared to other clans.
One died on the spot, but the remaining seven survived. The king interfered just in time and managed to stop the fight. At one point, King Asura turned down Manasvin 's porposal to participate in his plan. Despite sounding fun, he claimed it wasn't his style.Crew app icelandair
Currently one of the rakshasas from the Asura clan, Hurais aiding Sagara in the human realm. A superior sura from the Asura clan fights a god during the Cataclysm . Four arms and two legs are visible, as well as a compound eye. Members of Asura clan have forms of different insects, but they do not metamorph like conventional insects do.
A member who is born with a form of larvae will not go through metamorphosis and will stay in this form throughout the whole growth ranks.
There are also members with swarm-like forms. Due to their huge population and weaker power, most of them move in groups along with other Asura clan members or with suras from the Ananta clantheir allies. Like the Taraka clanthe Asura clan suras prefer to devour their prey alive, unlike most suras, who first kill and than eat their prey.
It is well known that the Asura clan is allied with Ananta clanas they have a common enemy front. This clan takes in nastikas from other clans who have abandoned their own clan in seek of refuge. Hura mentioned that lately a lot of Gandharva suras have been defecting into the Asura clan. Sign In Don't have an account? Start a Wiki. Contents [ show ]. Categories :. Cancel Save.
